Kids love the Life in the Adirondacks exhibit, the rustic log hotel, and the working blacksmith shop. The campus includes a boathouse with historic guideboats, an indoor nature exhibit, and walking trails along the lake. Plan for at least half a day as there is far more here than you would expect.</p>

The trail is well-maintained and climbs steadily through hardwood forest. Kids love climbing the restored fire tower at the summit where the views extend in every direction across a sea of mountains and lakes. The observer cabin at the base of the tower adds a touch of history. This is one of the most rewarding fire tower hikes in the park.</p>

The beach area is sandy and the lake is clean and calm for swimming and paddling. A short nature trail loops through the surrounding forest. The campground is centrally located for visits to the Adirondack Experience museum and the Blue Mountain fire tower trail. The sites are well-spaced and shaded. This is a solid, no-fuss family campground with great water access.</p>
