Beachfront camping with a wadeable offshore island on the quiet North Shore

A beautiful beachfront campground on the North Shore with a long sandy beach, calm water, and a small offshore island you can wade to at low tide. Goat Island (Mokuauia) is accessible by wading across the shallow channel and kids think it is the coolest thing ever to walk to their own island. The beach is quiet and uncrowded compared to town. Tent camping is available right behind the tree line. Cabins and yurts are also an option for families who want more comfort. This is beach camping at its finest.

Interactive Pacific Island cultural park with hands-on activities and evening luau

An interactive cultural park with six Pacific Island villages where families experience traditions, games, crafts, and performances from Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Tahiti, and Aotearoa. Kids can learn to throw a Samoan coconut, play drums, throw spears, and paddle canoes. The evening luau and fire knife dance show are spectacular. Student guides from the nearby university bring authentic energy and make the experiences hands-on. Plan for a full day and evening. This is far more engaging than a typical tourist show.
