The most popular route from the Slide Mountain parking area is about 5.6 miles round trip with a 1700-foot elevation gain through beautiful boreal forest. The summit is wooded but a viewpoint near the top gives sweeping views south. Reaching the top is a real accomplishment and a great milestone for kids building toward bigger mountains. The trail is well-marked and well-maintained.
